Newfound started as the guide I wish I'd had on the plane. I moved to Bangkok in 2024 and spent weeks piecing together basic information from Facebook groups, outdated Reddit threads, and blogs written for tourists, not residents. I couldn't find a single well-organised, current, trustworthy resource for actually living here. So I built one.
Newfound is a community-maintained guide to actually living in a new city. Not a travel blog. Not sponsored copy. Every page is structured around what you need to do — visas, banking, housing, healthcare, getting around — and every page carries a last-verified date so you know how current the information is.
The guides are written by people who have made the move themselves. When something changes, the community flags it. When something is wrong, readers tell us. The goal is a resource that stays genuinely useful over time, not one that ranks well for six months and goes stale.
Every guide page shows when it was last verified. Readers can flag outdated information directly from the page. Contributors are Bangkok residents — not travel writers optimising for search traffic. The community forum (coming soon) will let residents share experiences and updates directly.
Bangkok is live with ten guides covering everything from before you fly to remote work and tax basics. Lisbon is next. More cities follow as the community grows. The core guide is free and always will be.
Bangkok — Live. Lisbon — Coming next. Medellín, Dubai, Tbilisi — Planned. Subscribe to get notified when a new city launches.
